Heckert Solar GmbH, one of Germanys leading manufacturers of PV modules located in Saxony, used the developed software SmartCalc.CTM to significantly improve the power output for a new line of PV modules by 0.5%. Heckert Solar is convinced that the use of SmartCalc.CTM will continue to contribute to further developments to optimize and improve module power in the future. “For our customers we want to deliver the maximal possible power. SmartCalc.CTM enables us to perform detailed analyses [during module development] while saving on prototyping costs.” says Carl Otto, project leader of CTM100+ at Heckert Solar.
Heckert Solar GmbH is partner within the project CTM100+, a joint reaseach project with Fraunhofer ISE (Institute for Solar Energy Systems), Fraunhofer CSP (Center for Silicon Photovoltaics) and 11 further partners in the german solar industry. The goal of the project is to investigate and optimize cell to module gain and loss factors.
Symbiosis between research institute and practical implementaion in the industry enables direct and short feedback loops, achieving results fast and goal-oriented. Due to this fruitful and positive collaboration experience between Fraunhofer ISE and Heckert Solar, two further joint R&D projects are currently set up.
